Hillside, New Jersey — Donjon Marine Co., LLC has been named the apparent low bidder for a maintenance dredging contract issued by the New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), with a total contract value of $24,703,050.00. The project targets the Arthur Kill 35′ Reach, a key segment of the New York and New Jersey Channels within the Federal Navigation Project.
Donjon will be utilizing its resources of mechanical dredges equipped with an environmental clamshell bucket, multiple barges and tugboats to support the project, along with dewatering and unloading operations throughout the project.
Pending final award, Donjon Marine will be responsible for removing approximately 150,000 cubic yards of critical shoal material to restore and maintain safe, efficient navigation through the channel.
Currently, dredging is scheduled to start next month and is projected to be completed in two months.
