Donjon Marine provides the in-house equipment, expertise, and personnel to be able to offer turnkey services on maintenance and navigation improvement dredging projects, specializing in both upland and subaqueous ocean disposal.
Donjon is a recognized leader in dredging, processing, and disposal of environmentally sensitive materials in the Northeast. Donjon has also developed and operates a turnkey processing facility and is the only dredging service provider on the East Coast capable of environmentally dredging, processing, and in-house disposal of material through its New Jersey-based landfills.
Salvage
For over half a century, Donjon has been providing salvage and salvage-related services to both the U.S. and foreign marine communities. The company owns, operates, and maintains dedicated salvage-specific casualty response assets, including, but not limited to, tugs, ocean-certified derricks and cargo barges, all types of centrifugal and hydraulic submersible pumping systems, portable pulling power, marine firefighting response equipment, and underwater dive systems.

Heavy-Lift
Heavy-lift derrick barge services are a Donjon priority. The company’s floating heavy-lift equipment includes the 1000-ton capacity floating boomable shearleg Chesapeake 1000, which is based in Port Newark, NJ. Donjon’s certified heavy-lift derrick barge fleet is used in several ways from cargo lifts to providing services in support of its salvage, construction and demolition activities.
Lashing/securing of cargo onto rail cars, deck barges, and transporters is also an integral part of Donjon’s heavy-lift services and is offered to customers to provide a true turnkey service.
Diving
A critical component of any turn-key Marine Service provider is diving. Although Donjon has always provided in-house diving capabilities, these services have supported its marine salvage-related activities.
The diving division offers Emergency Response, Search and Recovery, Damage Survey, underwater burning & welding, non-destructive testing (NDT), intake & outfall cleaning, and inspections on a 24/7 basis.
Marine Transportation
Donjon is a worldwide marine transportation service provider. The company provides marine towing, floating derrick barge, and barge transportation services to the domestic and international marine communities for transporting bulk and break-bulk commodities.
Floating derrick barge services are provided with ABS loadlined and U.S. Coast Guard-inspected platforms. The company has performed single-crane lifts to 1,100 tons and multiple-crane lifts in excess of 4,000 tons. Break-bulk cargo handling is also a core business of Donjon, including ancillary services such as securing, blocking, and bracing of project cargoes.
Barge charter is also a core business of Donjon. The Donjon fleet includes ABS-load line barges for ocean transport of various cargoes. The company is also experienced in the use of submersible barges for salvage and transporting vessels or structures.
