Donjon Awarded $53.2 Million Newark Bay Dredging Contract

Hillside, NJ — On October 1st, Donjon Marine Co., LLC (“Donjon”) was awarded the firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance dredging of the Newark Bay Federal Navigation Channel for $53,165,800. Donjon was announced the lowest bidder for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (“USACE”) New York District contract in August.

Under the contract (W912DS-26-C-A029), Donjon will dredge designated areas of Newark Bay, including the Main, Port Newark, and Port Newark Pierhead channels. This work will help maintain critical navigation routes at their required depths and widths.

The cumulative contract value is $69,225,650, with $53,165,800 being initially obligated through the government’s fiscal 2026 civil operations and maintenance funds. The USACE award letter accepted an additional $16,059,850 for contract options.

The contract is estimated to be completed in February 2027.
